Metal Detectors

Walk through metal detectors are also commonly seen in airports as a way of detecting weapons. The sensitivity of such detectors is relatively low, since the amount of metal required to make a credible weapon is relatively large. To detect gram quantities of gold, on the other hand, requires a more advanced technology. The proprietary technology of the Goldfinger II walk through metal detector enables it to detect just a few grams of gold hidden on a person walking through the detector. With the current price of gold above $1,600 per ounce, even a quantity as low three or four grams represents a tempting opportunity for personal enrichment.

The ability of a metal detector to detect small quantities of metal depends on a number of variables, including metal composition, the shape and orientation of the object, and the distance of the object from the detector’s search coil. Goldfinger Global will run samples of your product that you provide through Goldfinger II and give you a complete analysis of detection levels when we return your samples to you. Interestingly, gold coming from different mines has different electromagnetic signatures, so for the most accurate results, samples should be taken from the mine or other facility where you expect to install your Goldfinger LCS loss control system.
